Breast health is an important aspect of women’s healthcare, and early detection of pathological conditions plays a crucial role in preventing serious complications. A community-based survey and medical camp on pathological conditions of the breast was conducted on 2 September 2023 in the selected area of Dhruv Nagar, Satpur. The program was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Department of Repertory and Case Taking, and Department of Surgery with the participation of IV BHMS students under the guidance of faculty members. The main objectives of the survey were to screen for pathological conditions of the breast, create awareness regarding breast examination, and conduct a medical camp for the community. Prior to the survey, students were trained through a demonstration session on self-breast examination (SBE) to effectively educate women in the community. A structured questionnaire and Google form were prepared to collect relevant information. During the survey, trained students demonstrated self-breast examination techniques to participants and screened a total of 327 women from different age groups. An awareness campaign was also conducted to educate participants about breast health, risk factors, and the importance of regular screening. Several cases of early breast abnormalities were detected, and participants with suspicious findings were referred to Motiwala (National) Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The activity significantly improved awareness among participants as well as students regarding breast health and early detection practices. The survey highlights the importance of community-based health education and screening programs in promoting early diagnosis and preventive healthcare.
