Homeopathic perspective in treating a case of Barrett’s esophagus

Barrett’s esophagus is a complication of the gastro esophageal reflux disease. Gastro esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in which stomach acids are refluxed up through the esophagus and oral cavity, causing heartburn, chest pain, hoarseness, asthma, recurrent pneumonia, chronic cough, reflux laryngitis, and sore throat, and has different signs and symptom depending on the severity of the disease. Barrett’s esophagus is a pre-malignant condition that is diagnosed by endoscopy and biopsy. The current case report is about a 38-year-old female who was diagnosed with GERD resulting in Barrett’s esophagus. In this article, I given an account on this disease and cited a case treated homeopathically.

A Case Study of Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an inflammatory disorder of the nasal mucosa induced by allergen exposure triggering IgE mediated inflammation. Clinically it is characterized by- rhinorrhea, sneezing, nasal itching and nasal congestion. AR has a considerable effect on quality of life and can have significant consequences if left untreated. AR is a global health problem affecting the people worldwide. Homoeopathic treatment is aimed at enhancing body’s own healing capacity so that human system does not react adversely to the allergens which are considered external factors or exciting cause. A case of allergic rhinitis treated with Arsenicum album, a homoeopathic medicine is reported here. This case shows the usefulness of homoeopathic medicines in allergic rhinitis.
