Abstract
Dermatological disorders are among the most common health problems affecting children and account for a significant proportion of pediatric consultations. Pediatric skin diseases differ from those seen in adults in terms of clinical presentation, etiology, and management. These conditions can lead to discomfort, recurrent infections, cosmetic concerns, and psychological distress in children. The prevalence of pediatric dermatoses ranges from 9% to 37% globally, with common conditions including eczema, pigmentary disorders, insect bite reactions, miliaria, urticaria, psoriasis, and infectious skin diseases. Several factors such as environmental conditions, overcrowding, poor hygiene, socioeconomic status, genetic predisposition, and nutritional deficiencies influence the occurrence of skin disorders in children. Conventional treatment mainly includes antibiotics, antihistamines, antifungal drugs, topical preparations, and symptomatic management, which may provide temporary relief but can sometimes lead to recurrence. Homoeopathy, based on the principle of individualization and the law of similars, offers a holistic approach in the management of pediatric dermatological disorders by addressing the underlying susceptibility and miasmatic background. The present exploratory study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of homoeopathic medicines in managing dermatological disorders in pediatric age groups. The study aims to assess symptomatic improvement, recurrence pattern, and overall response to individualized homoeopathic treatment in children suffering from various skin conditions. The findings may contribute to understanding the role of homoeopathy as a safe and holistic therapeutic approach in pediatric dermatology.
