Survey report on community health service (Anaemia camp)

A community health service programme focusing on anaemia screening was organized on April 14, 2023, at Maruti Mandir, Dhruv Nagar, and MNHMC Hospital, Nashik. Coordinated by the Departments of Human Physiology & Biochemistry and Pathology, the camp involved faculty members and BHMS students. The initiative began with a prayer, followed by systematic screening using Google forms prepared by IV BHMS students during their weekly survey. Pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness, and patients were referred to the camp for haemoglobin estimation and blood grouping. A total of 353 responses were collected through the survey, and 27 patients benefitted directly from blood investigations at the camp. The programme successfully combined academic participation with community service, highlighting the importance of early detection and awareness of anaemia in the local population.
